The Peacock café is housed in a beautiful vaulted building with plenty of space outdoors. Here you will find tempting cakes, lovely lunches and a great selection of teas and coffees. All our food is freshly made and locally sourced with the best Cornish produce. Alongside you will find our natural children’s play area – complete with a one of a kind slate roofed Wendy house!
Our menu can change daily but there will usually be a delicious homemade soup of the day as well as quiche, sandwiches and ploughman’s.
Of course, we also have delicious Cornish cream teas and a variety of homemade cakes on offer!
We have vegan and gluten free options too!
Please note that there is no charge for visiting the Café only, just let our friendly staff in the shop know on arrival. The Peacock Cafe is open from 10.00 – 5.00pm. Lunches are served from 12.00 until 3.00pm but please do ask if you arrive later than this and the friendly staff will try their best to accommodate you. Last orders in the cafe are 4.30pm.
Please note that we are unable to take reservations for tables. There is usually plenty of seating inside the cafe as well as tables outside and for extra busy days we have tables in our Old Servants Hall in the house.
Our charming cafe was once a dairy or perhaps laundry for Pencarrow House. The cafe building and cottages were built in the 17th century but today form our popular Peacock Cafe. We have this photograph from the 1930s and you can see much of the charm and character remains.
